How we work

Orange County Football is an independent site covering high school football in Orange County, California: every league, every program, every Friday night.

Where the scores come from

Finals and statistics are reported to us by coaches, stat keepers, athletic departments and fans through our submission form, and cross-checked against publicly posted results where possible. Standings, rankings and player leaderboards are computed directly from those reported results.

How stories are produced

Game recaps, previews and weekly notes are written by OCF Staff with the help of AI writing tools. Every story is generated only from the scores and statistics reported for that game, and is reviewed before publication. Our tools are not permitted to invent quotes, describe injuries, or add anything that isn't in the reported data. If a story says a player ran for 148 yards, it's because a box score said so.

We think this is the honest way to give every program in the county real coverage, not just the handful that get a reporter in the press box.

Rankings and leaderboards

The OCF Top 25 is a results-based rating: each team's average margin of victory, adjusted for the strength of its opponents (margins capped at 21 points so running up a score doesn't help). There is no poll and no preseason reputation. Player leaderboards are statistical lists, not scouting rankings, and reflect only the box scores submitted to us.

Photos

We publish only photos we have permission to use, always with a credit to the photographer. Photos come from players and families through claimed profiles, from partner photographers, from schools and booster clubs that have given permission, and from free-licensed sources for general atmosphere shots (never attached to a specific game or player). To request removal of a photo, email photos@orangecountyfootball.com.

Corrections and removals

If a score, stat or name is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it quickly: corrections@orangecountyfootball.com. Corrected stories note the change at the bottom.

Parents or guardians who would prefer that a student-athlete not be named on this site can request removal at the same address. We honor those requests.
